UofG Love Campaign
Our very first campaign of the year was for Valentines day and it was a huge success! Cal, Scott and I came together with the help of Daniel and Tasha held not one, but two fun contests for a chance to win some great prizes.
The contest was announced via a video which was posted on Facebook (this got a total of 5.7K views) and held over a period of a week from 7th February - 13th February, with the winner being announced on Valentines day. We asked people to submit a photograph of something or someone they love along with a few lines about their love story. Some of the stories had us all saying “Awww”. Out of a total of 27 entries, Galymzhan Baiimbet won a romantic M&S Valentine’s Day Dinner for two after getting an impressive 43 votes!
This competition took place on 14th February with students invited to send in snaps of things they love and what they were up to on the day. The winner would be the person whose snap received the most screenshots by the end of the day. The prize? An adorable UofG Teddy bear and 24hrs of snapchat fame. In the end we received a total of 88 snaps, got 131K views and got 54 new followers. Not too shabby.
All in all, it was a successful campaign which managed to get a lot of attention from students which made it all worthwhile. We had great fun making the Facebook video and organising the competitions and looking at all of the sweet and funny photos and snaps. Thank you for sharing what you love with us and we cant wait do something fun again next year.
